- Stay somewhere safe and lit. A lobby, a neighbour's place or a cafe nearby is better than a dark hallway late at night.
- Give us the exact address. Unit number, building entrance and any intercom or gate code help us get to your door faster.
- Don't force a window or the door. Damage to frames and strata doors usually costs more than the lockout itself.
- Have some ID ready. We check that you live or work at the property before we open the door. A driver licence, a bill or your lease is enough.

The price depends on the type of lock, the door and the time of day. When you call, we ask a few questions and give you an estimate before we leave. On site, we confirm the price before any work starts, so there are no surprises on the invoice.
Call-outs late at night, on weekends and on public holidays cost more than daytime jobs, and we tell you that on the phone. We only replace a lock if it is broken or can't be opened any other way, and we explain why first.

FAQs for emergency lockouts
Can you open my door without damaging it?
In most lockouts, yes. We use non-destructive entry first: picking or bypassing the lock with professional tools. Drilling is a last resort, for high-security or broken locks, and we explain it before we do it.
Do you charge more at night or on weekends?
Yes. Out-of-hours call-outs cost more than daytime jobs. We tell you the difference on the phone, before we come out, so you can decide.
I've lost my keys, not just locked them inside. What now?
We get you back in first. Then, because someone may have your keys, we recommend rekeying the lock so the old keys stop working. We can usually do it in the same visit.
Can you let me into an apartment I rent?
Yes. We ask for proof that you live there, such as ID with the address, your lease or a recent bill. If your building is managed by an agency, you can still call us directly.
How long does it take to open a locked door?
Once we are on site, most standard house and apartment locks are open within a few minutes. High-security locks and damaged doors take longer, and we tell you before we start.
My key snapped in the lock. Should I try to get it out myself?
Best not to. Tweezers, pliers or glue usually push the broken piece deeper and can damage the cylinder. Leave it as it is and call us: we extract it with the right tools and cut you a new key if the lock is still sound.
Will you need to replace my lock?
Usually not. Most lockouts end with the same lock working normally. We only replace a lock if it is broken or can't be opened any other way, and we explain why and give you the price before we do it.
What should I do first after a break-in?
If you are in danger, call 000. Otherwise, report the break-in to the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 and keep the event number for your insurer. Then call us: we secure the door the same night and change the lock if it can't be trusted any more.
How quickly can you get to me?
Usually within 15 to 30 minutes across the inner city, inner south and eastern suburbs, depending on traffic and the time of day. When you call, we give you an arrival time before we leave.
